About Shrubs

Looking for a bush? A shrub?  A hedge plant? Shrubs are woody plants that are smaller than trees and have multiple stems. They are typically less than 20 feet tall and often have a dense and compact growth habit. Some can be deciduous, meaning they lose their leaves in the fall, or evergreen, meaning they retain their leaves year-round.

They are often used in landscaping as hedges, borders, or foundation plants, and some species have attractive flowers, berries, or foliage.

Many can tolerate a range of soil types and climates, but they do best in well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade. Experienced gardeners enjoy to cut and regularly prune  for shape and health.
